CONSPIRACY THEORY OF POT
Re: "Strange priority", Editorial, April 16.
The reason that the government needs to fund the testing of pot and not the
manufactured drug, is that the manufacturer of the drug pays. There is no
one to pay for testing pot because there is no way to profit if it is a
valuable drug. Certainly, the big drug companies have a vested interest in
keeping pot illegal, so they can continue to sell manufactured drugs for
huge profits. If pot is found to be of medical value, their profits would
drop as people set up little grow-ops in their basement and make their own
medicine for pennies a day. I am sure that the source of much of the
pooh-poohing of pot is coming from the drug companies. It is about time
that this testing takes place.
