DEATH FOR DRUGS
Three Ghanaian nationals have been sentenced to death and a Togolese
national given life imprisonment on drug charges.
The Criminal Court yesterday handed down its verdict against Abdaila or
Andaila Mohamad, 40; Wahab Medina, 40; Chab Abdullanaf Umah, 27, all from
Ghana; and John Smith, 36, from Togo.
The four were arrested on July 31, 1998, in a police raid on a room in
Rajthewee Apartment in Makkasan area, where police found 9kg of heroin. The
Ghanaians denied the drug charges while Smith confessed.
