PRISON TEACHER PLEADS GUILTY TO DRUG SMUGGLING
Black River Falls - A teacher at Jackson Correctional Institution
pleaded guilty Wednesday to smuggling marijuana to prison inmates.
Sandra J. Peterson, 51, of Black River Falls pleaded guilty in Jackson
County Circuit Court to two felony counts of distributing drugs at a
correctional facility.
Peterson was accused of smuggling the drugs into the state prison in
Black River Falls, where the drugs were then sold and distributed to
inmates. A sentencing date was not set.
Peterson and Marlene Littlewolf, also of Black River Falls, were
arrested in April 2000 after a monthlong undercover investigation into
the source of drugs that were found inside the prison. Littlewolf was
sentenced in January to eight months in jail for buying and
re-packaging the marijuana that was smuggled in by Peterson.
