'SPREADHEADS' NOT JUST OUT TO GET HIGH
In response to the article about the Widespread Panic show at Mississippi
State University ("53 drug arrests made at MSU concert," April 27):
I was in attendance and had the unfortunate opportunity to see several
fellow Panic fans get arrested.
However, people do not follow the band "strictly and solely for the purpose
of distributing illegal products" as was quoted.
We follow Widespread Panic because we love the music. Not all of us are out
for the next high!
Panic fans are good people. But in any crowd, there are those who make the
rest of us look bad.
I am very sorry for the MSU community that these events took place.
However, be assured we "Spreadheads" are good people, as opposed to the
article that portrayed all of us as pseudo-hippie thugs. I am truly sorry
that you all got such a horrible misrepresentation of what we are really
all about.
