SAN FRANCISCO: FIRING OVER POT USE UPHELD
Employers can fire workers who use medical marijuana even if it was
legally recommended by a physician, the California Supreme Court ruled
Thursday.
Ragingwire Inc. said it fired Gary Ross because all marijuana use is
illegal under federal law. Ross contended that medical marijuana users
should have the same protection from discipline as employees with
valid painkiller prescriptions.
