COMPLAINT SAYS MAN DRANK RAVE DRUG

Waukesha - An Oconomowoc father ingested GHB, fell unconscious and was
hospitalized after his children couldn't wake him up, according court
documents filed Thursday.

Donald Gebert, 34, was charged Thursday with possession of a controlled
substance. Prosecutors alleged that Gebert got the GHB from a friend, John
Bogdansky, 39, also of Oconomowoc, who was charged with possession of GHB.

GHB, or gamma hydroxybutyrate, is sometimes used at all-night rave parties.
It is known as a date-rape drug for its ability to incapacitate people and
leave them vulnerable to sexual assault.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court:

Oconomowoc police were called to Gebert's home Sept. 29, and Gebert was
taken to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, where he regained consciousness.

He said he drank two capfuls of a liquid Bogdansky said was a "hormone." He
felt intoxicated about 30 minutes later, fell asleep and awoke in the hospital.

Bogdansky initially told police he didn't know what Gebert had ingested but
later said it was "GHB or liquid X," and he showed police where Gebert had
hidden the liquid from his children.
