NO PITY FOR INMATES

I would like to see Sheriff Lupe Valdez and the Dallas County
commissioners tell the state that releasing criminals is not the
answer to jail overcrowding and that the jail will stay overcrowded
because the county is fighting crime by housing criminals.

They did the crime; let them do the time. Jail overcrowding is the
criminals' fault, not the county's, so let the criminals suffer the
consequences. I'd tell the state to collect money from the criminals'
families to help pay for their room and board and for more jailers.

Sympathy for criminals has to stop. We do what is best for society,
not what is best for criminals' comfort and happiness.
