CALLS AN EVIL THING GOOD
Now we know the way to eliminate crime, keep policemen from being injured
or killed and help families enjoy togetherness.
According to Dean Becker 's May 31 Viewpoints letter, "Fatherless children,
drug laws," all we need to do is legalize marijuana. He pleads for the
repeal of such oppressive restriction "for the sake of our children."
Why not argue against laws that prohibit petty theft, simple assault or
even murder?
That way, policemen would not have to arrest poor lawbreakers, and families
would remain intact.
We might wonder why law-enforcement officials, social-service agencies and
all medical caregivers are not all calling for the repeal of all drug laws.
The prophet Isaiah could have been writing about the Drug Policy Forum of
Texas when he mentioned those who call good evil and evil good.
