POLICE DOING THEIR JOBS

This is in response to parents venting their concerns over a police
raid near a school.

I found it unsettling that parents were so angered by their children
witnessing police officers in tactical gear and carrying rifles.

The anger should be channeled toward the criminals who sell drugs to,
or in front of, the children. The public should be proud of our police
officers for doing their jobs.

Our children take precedence over all else and that is why the drug
busts take place. People in this city need to get their priorities
straight.

I am sure that 90 per cent of our children have seen more disturbing
television shows and played worse video games. It is the children's
safety that the police are concerned with and all parents need to
start educating their kids as part of a plan for a healthier society.

This is a reality unless you are living in a different world than I
am. I am a mother of two children (ages five and six) and I am very
certain that they would not be scared or traumatized if they were
witnesses to a drug bust. Their reaction may include giving the police
officers a high five.

Brantford police, thank you for your strong efforts in protecting our
community through keeping the drugs off our streets. You are deserving
of more credit. It seems as though there is no satisfaction in all the
work you do for us. Thank you.
