PRAISE FOR DARE

To the editor:

Several of the Nelson Kiwanis members recently attended the DARE (Drug
Awareness Resistance Education) student graduation. As a sponsor for this
program in Nelson, it was with a great deal of pride that our members
watched and listened to the graduation presentations

We believe that programs such as this educate and improve the self esteem
of the participants and help open the communication lines between youth and
our City Police. Although in any program of this size there are many who
should be recognized, we would in particular like to recognize and thank
the Nelson City Police, without whom this program would not be.

We also look forward to being involved in this program next year.
