PLEADING FOR THE FOURTH

Bravo to the Times Record News for your excellent editorial,
"Unwarranted thermal imagining's promising uses ..." (6-20-01) I was
pleasantly surprised to learn U. S. Supreme Court justices Scalia and
Thomas voted to uphold the Fourth Amendment rights. It seems that up
until now, there wasn't a single right that these two Supreme Court
justices would not be willing to trample on in the name of the cause
of the war on drugs. It's good to see conservative judges actually
conserving the Bill of Rights. It was disappointing to learn that four
of the Supreme Court justices seem to feel that the Fourth Amendment
doesn't really mean what it says.
