20PC OF STUDENTS TRY COCAINE
ALMOST one in five students has experimented with cocaine at university,
research claimed yesterday. The study found that 18 per cent had tried
the class A drug at least once. But cannabis remained the drug of choice
for most people, with 57 per cent taking it regularly.
The report, based on interviews with 625 students, blamed the high use
of cocaine on a fall in its market price, making it more affordable for
students. It also found that six per cent of students had dealt in drugs
to supplement their income.
