DRUG LAB OPENS IN ANDERSON
After nearly seven months of construction, the Anderson-Oconee Regional
Forensics Laboratory opened Thursday in the basement of the Anderson County
Jail's County Home building. The lab will process all narcotics evidence
seized in cases for Anderson and Oconee counties. The nearly $500,000
project was paid for through state grants and is expected to process about
1,000 to 1,200 drug cases a year.
Chemist Michael Miller will run the lab, which official hope will speed up
the legal process for drug cases in the area.
