EX - COACH ADMITS USING DRUGS WITH KIDS
MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) -- A former New Jersey high school basketball
coach has admitted using drugs with a player and three other students.
Adrian Matthew, 29, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of Ecstasy
pills, distribution of marijuana, child endangerment and two counts of
child abuse. He faces up to 14 years in prison when he is sentenced
Oct. 19.
Matthew said he and the four students used the drugs in his Moorestown
home before a boys basketball playoff game on Feb. 28.
Matthew, who was arrested March 17, has since been fired, and county
officials have said they will seek permanent revocation of his
teaching license.
The students, three girls and a boy, were not disciplined by the
district, but they were required to attend drug counseling sessions.
