TAJIK POLICE SEIZE 5 KG OF HEROIN
DUSHANBE. Tajikistan's police have seized some 5 kg of heroin to be
smuggled to Russia, police spokesman Fayzullo Gadoyev told ITAR-TASS on
Saturday [7 July].
According to him, police found the drugs in a car owned by a Dushanbe
resident who was about to carry the heroin to the Sogdiyan Region in the
north of the republic and then to Russia either by plane or by car.
Drug dealers have a particularly wide net in northern Tajikistan
neighbouring on Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Gadoyev said.
