"CONSERVATIVES CONSERVING THE BILL OF RIGHTS"
To the Editor:
Kudos to The Seattle Post-Intelligencer for your editorial, "A THIN WIN FOR
RIGHT OF PRIVACY." I was pleasantly surprised to learn the U. S. Supreme
Court Justices Scalia and Thomas voted to uphold the Fourth Amendment
rights. It seems that up until now, there wasn't a single right that these
two judges would not be willing to trample on in the name of the war on drugs.
It's good to see conservative judges actually conserving the Bill of Rights.
I was greatly disappointmented to learn that Supreme Court Justices
Stevens, O'Connor, Kennedy and Rhenquest seem to feel that the Fourth
Amendment doesn't really mean what it says.
