MAN CHARGED IN COCAINE BUST

West Bend - Cash bail of $1,500 was set for a Milwaukee man after his
arrest in connection with what officials said was one of the largest
amounts of crack cocaine found in the county.

Michael D. Sykes, 22, was arrested July 6 in the 800 block of Wheelock Ave.
in Hartford. He was charged Monday with one count of possession with intent
to deliver. If convicted, he could face up to 60 years in prison and $1
million in fines.

Officers found 16 rocks of crack cocaine in Sykes' wallet after his arrest.

A search of his apartment turned up nearly 30 grams of cocaine in
containers. Together with the rocks found in Sykes' wallet, officials
estimate the street value of the 35 grams would be $2,500.

That is one of the largest amounts of crack cocaine found in the county,
according to officials.

Sykes is scheduled to return to court July 23.
