PUBLIC NUISANCE CHARGES FILED AGAINST TWO
A Buffalo woman is free on $20,000 bond following her arrest on a class C
felony charge of maintaining a public nuisance, in violation of RSMo. 195.130.
A Buffalo man is jailed on the same charge, which states that "Any room,
building or structure which is used for the illegal use, keeping or selling
of controlled substances shall be deemed a 'public nuisance'."
Lois Reeves, 23, was arrested last week on the charge stemming from the
June 20 search of her city residence. According to the deputy sheriff's
report, a search warrant was obtained and the search produced substances
believed to be cocaine and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Reeves appeared in Dallas County Associate Circuit Court Monday, at which
time a request for change of judge was granted. She is to appear before
Judge James Anderton Monday.
Shane McKinney, 20, charged with a class C felony of maintaining a public
nuisance in connection with the same search, was taken into custody Monday
night and remains in the Dallas County Detention Center.
According to the officer's report, McKinney, Reeves and her three-year-old
daughter shared the city residence.
