WE NEED HARSHER PENALTIES FOR THOSE WHO DO DRUGS
I am writing this letter to ask one question to the readers of The
Independent. What would possess a person to do drugs?
I'm sure that this topic may seem trite, but it is a valid one. There can
be no situation so bad as to make someone want to to do drugs or to drink
themselves into oblivion. It just doesn't make sense. To feel high -- that
isn't a very convincing excuse. To relieve stress -- get a massage.
Common people, we need to rally against drugs and those who deal drugs.
I am asking all the people of Grand Island to band together to fight
illegal drug use and underage drinking. And it all starts with responsible
parents and role models.
There should also be harsher punishments for those people who are caught
dealing drugs. It wouldn't bother me to see more people behind bars. Who
cares if there are 25 people in one jail cell?
