JULY 4 FRONT PAGE 'DISGUSTING'

To the editor: Was it necessary, especially on July 4, to use the whole
front page of our only local newspaper for the "Wild chase scene"? I found
this in poor taste to our local citizens and disgusting to look at.

You picked a holiday such as July 4, when our local community has visitors
from other communities, states and countries who will open our local paper
- - not to a joyous holiday message, but to this enormous truck chase and
drug capture.

As I turned to page A3 in the "Good Morning" article, the headline there
was, "Patriotism may be passe, but it's great to be free." HELLO? Does this
refer to the front page of this very paper - passe?

The paid-for ad on A4 by Risley's was more patriotic - selling their TVs
with the American flag on the screen of each TV.
