ARKANSAS: AUTHOR OF BUSH BOOK DIES
The author of a book that accused George W. Bush of covering up a
cocaine arrest has died of a drug overdose, the police said. The author,
James H. Hatfield, 43, wrote "Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the
Making of an American President" in 1999. Distribution of the
unauthorized biography was halted after it was revealed that Mr.
Hatfield had lied in interviews about his own criminal past. The police
in Springdale, Ark., said they did not suspect foul play in the death on
Wednesday.
