MAN CHARGED WITH GROWING MARIJUANA

Janesville - A 26-year-old Janesville man was charged Friday with drug
trafficking after police said they found 173 marijuana plants ranging in
size from 3 inches to 4 feet growing in a shed behind his home.

Scott Vilbrandt was charged in Rock County Circuit Court with manufacturing
marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and running a
drug house after police discovered the plants on Thursday.

Authorities described the shed as a professional setup, with the smaller
plants separated from the larger plants by a tarp so they would be exposed
to growing lights at different intervals. There also were large fans for
ventilation, according to a criminal complaint.

In a golf bag in Vilbrandt's car, police found about one-eighth pound of
marijuana and a small scale, the complaint says. Officers also found two
large garbage bags containing stems and seeds on the property.
