POLICE MOVE IN ON POT GROWERS

IF YOU'RE growing marijuana plants in your basement, you probably
don't want to get into a big fight with your spouse.

That truth was amply demonstrated this week when RCMP received a
report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the 400 block of
Bowron Avenue at 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Once they arrived, officers reportedly found a marijuana growing
operation. Because the domestic assault resulted in one arrest,
police were able to execute a drug search and confiscated a
sophisticated marijuana growing operation.

Numerous marijuana plants and equipment commonly used to enhance its
growth was seized.

As a result, one adult female was charged with cultivation of a
controlled substance.

In another incident, police raided a home on Marsh Drive on Friday,
coming away with an armload of marijuana plants.

Constable Sukh Parmar reported this week that police executed a
Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence
located at 1217 Marsh Drive at 7 p.m. on July 20.

Once inside the residence police officers came upon in excess of 50
marijuana plants in various stages of growth, which they subsequently
seized.

Constable Parmar said the investigation into the incident is ongoing
and a charge of production of a controlled substance is pending.
