ABUSE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL ALWAYS HURTS
I am writing in defense of those who wrote condemning drug use. I don't
understand how anyone can make a good argument for the use of drugs. Every
addict starts with one drink or one joint.
If you think nobody is getting hurt by drug/alcohol use, let's ask all the
children who are abused/neglected because their parents are users, families
of people who have lost a loved one to a drunk driver, kids who don't get
the necessities of living because their parents spent all the money on
drugs, babies born to drug addicted mothers or all the people in
institutions with drug/alcohol induced dementia. Eventually drug use will
touch everyone.
God gave us a lot of gifts in this world, and he wants us to learn and
benefit from them. The use of drugs benefits no one. I thank God for the
DARE program and the officers who spend so many hours teaching our children
the dangers of drugs.
I cannot claim to have never had a drink in my past, however, I can say
that I set a good example for my kids and try to teach them to make the
right choices when it comes to drug and alcohol use.
Instead of slamming the people who are willing to speak out about this
topic, be thankful that someone cares enough to try to keep the children of
this country from making bad choices.
