WEIRD BUG IN STASH? - AVOID INHALING
THE BUG MAN, Richard Fagerlund
Question: I found a weird bug in my stash and want to know if it is eating
it. Can you tell me what it is and what should I do about it?
Answer: The insect you fond in your marijuana is a ground beetle (family
carabidae). Most ground beetles are predaceous on other insects, although
there are few seed-eating species.
Yours was not a seed-eating species. His presence in your stash was quite
accidental and I guarantee he is not eating or smoking the pot. I can't say
for sure that he hasn't pooped in it though. Enjoy.
This is a good spot to say that hemp (marijuana) is a plant that has very
few pests and industrial hemp should be allowed to be grown legally in this
country.
It is every bit as good as cotton as a fabric, it can replace wood as a
source of paper and has thousands of other uses. As a matter of fact,
almost half the agricultural chemicals used in this country are used on cotton.
Hemp would be a perfect alternative to cotton fabric. It is because it
requires less pesticides that I believe it should be legally cultivated.
The THC found in leaves and buds of the marijuana plant are only found in
very minute amounts in the fibrous parts that could be so useful.
In my opinion, it is not because hemp is associated with marijuana that it
is illegal, it is because it threatens the cotton, timber and other industries.
