WRITER SAYS DRUG WAR 'HAS BEEN LOST'

After America's lunatic drug crusade bankrupts Logan County, perhaps
taxpayers will elect some repealers to unburden themselves of a
useless and totally counterproductive drug war.

Sheriff Dannie Blick has his priorities confused when he thinks
busting "meth" labs is more important than protecting people from
assault, robbery and property theft. Especially when drug prohibition
never produces any reduction in drug use.

Whether Logan County officials like it or not, meth use has tripled
in the United States since 1990 and dedicating every deputy and
lawman in the state to drug prohibition won't change a thing.

America's disastrous drug war has been lost fair and square and it's
time to end this fiasco while we still have enough money left to
educate our children and take care of genuine civic needs.
