DEATH FOR DRUGS
Well, the Drug Summit has been and gone and we have had all the experts
from the eastern States, the Netherlands and many other places, all of whom
have drug problems in their cities, trying to tell us how to manage our
drug situation.
Funny, isn't it, maybe I have missed it, but I don't seem to have seen or
heard anything from a representative from the Singapore area to explain how
it has obtained a virtually drug-free city.
Australia is an island continent and drugs have to be brought in by sea or
air. If we adopted the same policy as Singapore, with the threat to any
courier that he or she would be facing the death penalty instead of a few
years in one of our "motels", this may go a long way towards solving our
problem.
