MEETING ON DRUGS FIGHTING TO BE HELD IN DUSHANBE ON SEPTEMBER

BISHKEK. Meeting of representatives of countries, which signed a
memorandum on mutual understanding "On cooperation in the sphere of
drugs control" will be held in Dushanbe of on 16-17 September. The
meeting will gather representatives of Russia, Central Asian
countries, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, observers from 25 countries,
InfoCenter Bishkek reports quoting to information of press center of
the Agency on Drugs Control under the Tajik President. According to
data of the Agency, during ten years seizes of drugs confiscated in
Tajikistan increased to 60 times. Collaborators of law-enforcement
bodies jointly with Russian frontier troops withdrew 5968 kg of drugs
during 7 month of 2001 (in 2000 - 1849 kg).
