QUESTIONS SUPERVISORS' ACTIONS

Once again, Journal reporter Gus Thomson has written a most
informative article, this time regarding the "quasi-legal" activities
of some Placer

County Sheriff's deputies. The involvement of the Board of
Supervisors, apparently approving such actions, is indeed shocking. I
must question whether they were fully informed about what the deputies
were doing? A state law is a state law (the Compassionate Use Act,
11362.5) and does not only apply to certain counties, but to all of
them.

Putting a county at risk for any lawsuit is an irresponsible act and
if it is, in fact, just to get federal funds and new law type tools
(like fake federal grand jury search warrants) then it is reprehensible.

As I understand this very expensive problem and after reading about
one of the deputies involved in every one of these cases, I think
Placer County may be in serious trouble.

Deputy County Counsel David Huskey mentions that the facts will come
out in a court of law in front of a jury and he is certainly correct =8B
we've all seen what the juries do in Placer involving over zealous
deputies and medical cannabis/marijuana.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Wally Reemelin and Placer
County is very fortunate to have a man with his integrity and
intelligence looking out for their tax dollars.
