KIND HELICOPTERS

Gotta thank you for the story "Saving us from weed," (In Case You Missed
It, Aug. 23-29). This is yet another correlation to the drug war that
escapes us till it is illuminated.

The police helicopters made me feel so safe that I forgot our lack of
safety in our state full of trees for lack of fire helicopters. And the
police helicopters look so good in uniform.

Another correlation that must become exposed more is the process of how
schools gets shortchanged money, while the price of the drug war (also
known as the war for profit, the war on some drugs and the war against
citizens), goes to the moon. One of the sickest examples is the amount
spent on education compared to incarceration rates. The one who spends the
most on education is the one who incarcerates the least humans, and visa-versa.

Check it out, it's really sick:

a.. Minnesota's ranking among U.S. incarceration rates: Fifty-first
(includes District of Columbia). b.. Minnesota's ranking among U.S.
education-spending per capita: First. c.. District of Columbia's ranking
among U.S. incarceration rates: First. d.. District of Columbia's ranking
among U.S. education-spending per capita: Fifty-first. America, it is in
God we trust, not prohibitionist politicians. Please help end the war, not
escalate it.

I am deeply saddened to be an American Christian, when I put this all into
perspective. May the Grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.
