POLICE CHIEF PRAISES BANNER
To the Editor:
The methamphetamine epidemic is becoming a serious problem in Tennessee.
Meth is highly addictive and easily manufactured. The Special
Investigations Unit of the Cleveland Police Department has been training
and gearing up to combat this problem.
I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I appreciate you
running the cover story series on methamphetamine labs in the Cleveland
Daily Banner. This has been very beneficial for the citizens of our
community and our department.
As a result of your articles appearing on the front page, local property
owners recognized several components of a meth lab at their rental property
location. They notified our Special Investigations Unit. Upon investigation
by our department, two arrests were made and more are pending.
Thanks to the relative information being published in the Cleveland Daily
Banner, the citizens of Cleveland have helped the Cleveland Police
Department shut down a meth lab here in our city.
Sincerely,
Lee Reese
Chief of Police
