BAIL AND JAIL
My co-defendants and I at the Wilson County jail made some news reports
late last month when we were arrested on Interstate 95 for drug possession.
Though one of my passengers admitted to owning all of the drugs and advised
counsel that the rest of us had no knowledge of the drugs, we all, as of
this writing, still sit behind bars under $200,000 bail.
That's $195,000 more than Roger Dale Bridges, 54, of Raleigh, who was
initially charged with felony death by vehicle and driving while impaired
[after the death of a pedestrian at Crabtree Valley Mall] and released on
$5,000 bond.
Imagine the disgust I feel for the North Carolina judicial system.
