ANTI-DRUG GRANT AWARDED TO CENTER
SPRINGDALE -- Sens. Tim Hutchinson, R-Ark., and Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark.,
announced Wednesday that the U.S. Department of Justice has awarded $74,859
to the Harvey and Bernice Jones Center for Families to help finance its
Drug-Free Communities Support Board.
The grant is being used for Teen Arts Explosion, a program that introduces
life skills including an introduction to art activities and mentors from
Big Brothers and Big Sisters as well as professional artists.
The grant was awarded under the federal Drug-Free Communities Act, which
encourages communities to work to reduce drug abuse among youths.
