MAN PLACED ON PROBATION FOR ALTERING PRESCRIPTION

Waukesha - A man who doctored a prescription to get double his dose of
OxyContin pills was placed on probation Monday for one year.

Thomas Wall, 42, of Milwaukee was prescribed 40 OxyContin pills for
severe back pain but altered the prescription to say 90 pills,
according to a criminal complaint. Wall told police he wanted to save
money by avoiding a co-pay of $12 for each prescription.

Wall pleaded guilty Monday to attempting to obtain a prescription drug
by forgery, a misdemeanor.

Circuit Judge Robert Mawdsley imposed but stayed a three-month jail
term and placed Wall on probation for one year with alcohol and other
drug abuse counseling.
