MARIJUANA BUST IS CULMINATION OF LONG NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION
TACOMA -- The arrests that broke up a major marijuana operation early
Thursday were the result of a narcotics investigation three years in the
planning.
More than 10 officers from local, state and federal agencies arrested 11
people in 20 locations in and around Tacoma and in South King County.
The operation broke up an indoor marijuana growing and distribution ring.
Along with more than 1,600 marijuana plants, police seized $13,000 in cash
and more than 100 guns. The nine men and two women arrested appeared in
U.S. District Court in Seattle Thursday, charged with conspiracy to
manufacture and distribute marijuana.
