LEAVE VENDORS ALONE, GO AFTER DRUG DEALERS
Stopping peddlers and beggars? I say no! Selling helps them supplement
their incomes. Police are paid extra money to stop peddlers from selling.
Why not give that extra money to the sellers so the police can work on
stopping drug addicts' activities. And require beggars to have licenses.
The system seems to worry about a traffic hazard to the peddlers. I'd much
rather read about them being killed by cars than being shot through the
head by drug dealers.
These young street vendors are well-dressed, have nice manners and thank us
when we refuse. They don't force us to buy. Let them supplement their
incomes. They are not dealing drugs. Give them a break.
