NORML LEADER WILL SPEAK AT CONFERENCE
The Missouri Marijuana Law Reform Conference will be held today at the
University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
The conference begins at noon in Room 7 with a welcome by Jeremy Hudson,
president of the MU chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of
Marijuana Laws.
John Galliher, an MU sociology professor, is slated to talk about the
history of decriminalization of marijuana laws at 2 p.m. Keith Stroup,
founder and national director of NORML, will speak at 3:30 p.m. about the
reform movement.
The conference will end at 5 p.m. with a hemp car bio-diesel fuel
demonstration.
Stroup founded NORML in 1970 and headed the organization for its first 10
years. He left the group to work with other public interest groups,
including Farm Aid, the National Voter Rights organization and for several
years was the national director of the National Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers.
