ROBESON DRUG BUST NETS $80,000 IN ECSTASY
LUMBERTON -- Two Florida men were arrested Tuesday after Robeson County
drug agents found about $80,000 worth of the drug ecstasy and a large
amount of cash in the rental car they were driving.
Dariuzs Kiulin and a passenger, Franciszek Certera, were charged with
trafficking in ecstasy by possession, by manufacture and by transport. They
were jailed with bail set at $400,000.
Cetera is 39 and Kiulin is 43. Both men live in Margate, Fla.
Sheriff's Lt. C.T. Strickland said Cetera and Kiulin were stopped for a
traffic violation on Interstate 95 just north of Rowland about 9 a.m.
Strickland would not say what the violation was.
He said the men were headed south in a 2001 Hyundai Accent when deputies
stopped them. He said the men told the officers that they were headed to
Florida from New York.
Strickland said the deputies searched the car and found the drugs and
nearly $100,000 in Canadian and United States money in the trunk.
Strickland said there was $75,000 in Canadian currency and about $20,000 in
U.S. currency packed in separate plastic bags.
The officers found nearly 3,000 dosage units of the drug.
