LIFT DRUG BAN

Rachel Ehrenfeld's Sept. 30 commentary, "U.S. ignored money trail," is
the best, if not the most comprehensive argument I have seen for
legalizing drugs in America. In one fell swoop we can:

* Keep presently outgoing drug money in the United States, defunding
many unseemly enterprises.

* Empty our prisons to make room for all the terrorists we are
rounding up.

* Free up the vast amounts of "War on Drugs" money and personnel to
fight the much more productive and beneficial war on terrorists.

* End the need for farm subsidies, and make better use of that
money.
