generally counting lots of entries may take lots of cpu power, indexes or no indexes. i mean it counts every time user refreshes a page which is ALOT. you can probably crontab it every 10 mins and it'd STILL be much better and fairly accurate and recent

better than just removing it..

instead of calculating this shit real time on every page view, make a table where u store the shit, and crontab it every nite. then u can bring back total messages under "total messages as of last nite" title.

I have also met alot of people who had strong feelings about some individuals they never met. Usually those individuals were either celebrities, politicians or generally people in positions of power. Fame's the game, recognize the name. I wonder if the famous people themselves ever think twice about the large masses of commoners who talk, form opinions, and think they know anything. Nobody knows for sure, but I doubt it.

Yeah, more on topic, montreal IS damn small. Scenes interact alot, and I'm not surprised at all that, for example, long ago I chilled with completely random (at the time) people at Saphir, who I ended up finding out knew and were even related to some 20+ people that I knew from all kinds of different surroundings that do not interrelate such as two of my ex-girlfriends, lots of friends, an ex-roommate, a current roommate, and a dealer. The only thing that is common to all of them is theyre english speakers. How freaky is that? And thats given I'm only in Montreal 8 years. Shit. And that wasnt the only time.
