google with their infinite storage for caching and indexing aside, i wonder how spymac can offer free 1gig mailboxes. i mean sure, hard drive space is cheap now and its obvious very few people would actually use 50megs, let alone the entire 1g (i am SURE they have a maximum attachment size policy), but still, a 200g HD costs something like 130CAD and thats not pennies...

as for gmail, well, i'd use it for what its good for - as a file dump account (if i needed one, considering i dont now). attachment size policies can be easily overridden with archives broken to parts with RAR.. anyone ever get warez from newsgroups? ;)

second, you should be more attentive. i said 500 for me with staff discount, possibly less, and thats 570 with tax, for a much more advanced product with good battery and a warranty for a year. no warranty = risk to pretty much lose what you paid if shit breaks down, those things are delicate.

usually refurbished or simply older products go for 2/3rds or less of their new equivalents, WITH warranty. take away warranty, and i think about halfing that price is justified... which is more or less what i said.
