emo is kinda a punk movement that stared a few years back. MOst the music does revolve around love, but not all. And it's not really light punk, cos you have metalcore bands that rip the shit out of most metal bands for intensity ie. as i lay dying, a life once lost, atreyu, waterdown...etc.
