Montreal est même reconnu comme la capitale de ce genre d'événements en Amérique Du Nord. Juste a regarder les plaques de licenses des chars stationnés à l'extérieur de l'Usine C témoigne de ceci: j'en ai vu de Floride même :)

I should have specified : expensive for me. I'm just not into much money right now, having too much to pay for my home ect. I should have bought my tickets in December but wasnt sure if I could make it. I didnt want to spend so much on bands I didnt care for on the other nights. I didnt even get to see all the bands that were on that day. I know the logistics of paying just for the bands I wanted to see wouldnt work out, but if I could have, I would have.
I picked the night which featured the most artists I liked. If I compare this to the COMA events, I either got free passes or when I paid for the last one, it was still less expensive. I do realize much had to be invested to make Kinetik happen and I know things got tight for the COMA productions but in the end, my situation made this an expensive event for me at this time. If I could have paid to see just the artists I wanted to see, maybe in some other venue even, it would have paid much less. I didnt mind paying 40$ for Ministry but even that was getting expensive. I dont even bother with concerts at the Bell Center since no bands play there that are worth my spending so much.

I was only there for the noise events on Saturday...this was way expensive. I thought Mono No Aware, Iszoloscope and This Morn Omina put on great live performances that add much to their studio versions. Terrorfakt was of course very entertaining with all that industrial grinding shit. Sparks flying everywhere, that was sw33t.

I recognized you for the first time, Human Desease, but didnt know what to say other than "hi" so I just didnt say anything ;)
I should have given you some stickers at least. Oh well, next time.

ok, I didn't bother reading the rest of the posts so here I go anyway...
DrNyarlathotep, a few posts back you said we shuld get rid of the weak to evolve geneticaly, but here's some news: we don't NEED to do ANYTHING. Evolution happens regardless of our actions. It culls the population on it's own. Sure, we live longer than we ought to, people with hereditary deseases are breeding when they would have died out if they had lived millions of years ago, but in the end, the selection process is happening beyond on conscious choices. Society as a whole is a product of our genetic evolution and is itself evolving constantly. Why do you think that the wealthy breed less than the poor, for example?

I agree with Place des arts for a great area... then all going into the metro to head towards, say, Mont-Royal station. Imagine trains full of dancing people, confusing the Krishnas and whatnot ;)

We could make it weirder if everyone wore something distinctive, or wore meat hats....

PS: Wouldnt it be weird to walk into a silent club where everyone had headphones on (including the DJ?) and all you heard was some talking?

You might have a point there... it's no longer a problem if you go dancing upstairs but the music is terrible.
As for feeling old going there, it does have a large seemingly underage crowd but like I said, it's a dont-give-a-shit place. There's enough older people hanging around the ground floor to not make you look stupid like that old guy in his fifties who's always checking out the too-young girls at Le Syndrome...

i think its the other way around.

downstairs its always black-death metal, and upstairs everything from 80's to rock to pop to hiphop, and they used to mix like 30 min of gabber the friday at 2:30 am like 1 or 2 year ago.

i cant stand death metal in a bar.

Last time I went, it was a Wednesday and I SWEAR it looked like a 5 to 7 at the St-Sulpice. People had wool sweaters and looked educated. I was dumbfounded.

that's because of the english crowd. sometimes it seems like they outnumber the french... all those polo shirts with popped collars and baseball caps...
