well religion is a meme like any other idea that spreads like a desease. The concept of saving means converting people, thus spreading the religion/meme beyond the current boudaries, "infecting" others to bring uniformity of ideas. It's as if the aim was to make everyone the same in order to reduce conflict, but its also instinctual to cling to your established ideas and fight for them unless your survival (among other things) improves by adopting a different ideology.

That is so ironic. Religions preach peace but they are inherently warlike anyway since it's a tribal instinct to adhere to a dogma and view those who do not share it as a threat or subjects to "save".

Get some RPG sourcebooks, they're great material for writing. Get your hands on Shadowrun, Rifts, even Warhammer stuff like Necromunda. You can find these books used or as scanned PDF torrents. Many of them offer details about cyberpunk settings, trypical character profiles and even technical specs on cyberpunk tech (weapons, cybernetics, vehicules ect)

Familiar speech or slang is spoken everywhere in every language. Most people don't speak their "real proper" language. But if you turn on the news, there's a good chance that you will hear "real proper". For instance, Bernard DeRome or Celine Galipeau on RadioCanada will read the news in perfect french, impeccable compared to the language you'll hear in a cafe in Paris. Likewise, you will find a much better spoken french when the news headlines are read in France than in a bar on St-Denis. So it's not about geography, it's about context.
