if you only care about 3 persons opinion, why not just send it to them in an email or something and not put it on a forum for everyone to see?

I challenge anyone to come up with the source of these quotes:

- "I observed yet another example of meaningless in our world. This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But he asks himself, Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now? It is all so meaningless and depressing. Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. And on a cold night, two under the same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how can one be warm alone?"

- "Those who love money will never have enough. How absurd to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what is the advantage of wealth - except perhaps to watch it run through your fingers!"

- "Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat well, drink a good glass of wine, and enjoy their work - whatever they do under the sun"

yeah i know what u mean lack of motivation, i had five classes today and went to ONE!! in addition to the fact that I probably should be doing homework right now lol...

i kinda agree though that u gotta learn to love the feeling, its all like a balance, if u have a great time at a party your bound to get the shitty feeling for the next little while, and that's how u know it was a fucking great party!!

When it comes to alcohol, society clearly distinguishes between moderate levels of consumption and abuse....in other words, everyone recognises that drinking 2 beers is totally different than drinking 10. I find it interesting, however, that society rarely sees this distinction with regards to drug use: either you do a particular drug, in which case your gonna end up addicted/overdosed, or you don't. So I'm wondering what you all think about this: is it possible to use drugs over a long period of time in moderation, with only minor health risks involved, or does any use of a drug inevitably lead to higher and higher dosage? Or is the answer different for different drugs?

afrokaboozy...

I agree with some things you said and disagreed with others, I will elaborate..

First of all, I agree that you can't blame Islam for 9/11, but then again, you can't completely disassociate the two. Saying that 9/11 is a result of Israel's treatment of Palestinians is incorrect. If that were so, it would make much more sense to attack Israel than the US, and it is not just me saying that, but Hamas also. Bin Laden basically sees himself as the saviour of Islam, the one who will unify and restore an Islamic empire like in Muhammed's time (he even claims to be a descendant of Muhammed) The main obstacle to this happening is the US, for two main reasons:
(1) supporting a strong non-Islamic power in Israel, thus weakening the presence of Islam in the region and preventing a Moslem takeover, and even more significantly,
(2) supporting a pro-west government in Saudi Arabia, moreover having troops there, preventing an Islamic revolution in that country, the birthplace of Muhammed and home of the 2 most important Moslem shrines (in fact Bin Laden consistently lists this as the #1 offence of the west)
In summary, Bin Laden's attack on the US, in his own mind, is part of the struggle for the revival of the Islamic empire against the world dominance of the US. Its not about justice, its about ideology and power. Fortunately, most Moslems do not agree with this ideology.

ps. while israel does plenty of horrible things there's no need to slander it...since when do Israelis rape Palestinians as you suggested?

I guess the main point is that people who are already experiencing some form of depression are far more likely to take drugs than people who are mentally healthy. And in the long run, if you're depressed drugs will only make it worse, because no matter what, you can't escape reality.

well first of all marriage existed thousands of years before catholiscism did, and yes while the 3rd world is vastly overpopulated the developed world, especaily western europe, is in a situation where people aren't having babies so they are forced to bring in immigrants to keep the economy going. I still believe that a two-parent household is the preferable way to raise kids, so as long as people are having kids I feel that marriage is a relevant institution. personally, i think its sad in a way that people don't want to have kids, I almost see it as giving up on the whole notion of humanity, but whatever I'm sure alot of you will disagree with me and thats alright...

ok most of you will probably think this is a pointless or boring post but I'm bored so here goes...

My first time taking mushrooms was this past saturday at outerspace energy. I took 1.75g in a peanut butter sandwich (I'm not sure which species) on a medium-full stomach. The onset was very long, maybe 1.5 hours or so. After that, I noticed a slight feeling of nausea, not really unpleasant, and I knew I wasn't going to throw up. The main effects I noticed at this point were a great deal of energy and sense of well-being, not unlike what I experience at raves anyways, but much stronger. I lossed all sense of time, if someone said 10 minutes or 1 hour had gone by I wouldn't be surprised in either case. Slightly after peaking I smoked some weed, and this is when I noticed more 'trippy' effects, nothing too intense just mostly mild visual distortions. The comedown was long and pleasant, no stomach cramps, though afterwards I felt somewhat drained of energy. Overall it was definetly enjoyable, also less of an 'intense' experience than I anticipated. Well that's it, if someone has similar or different experiences that they want to share please go ahead.

of course killing is not the answer and the newspaper article is certainly no reason to kill anyone, but to make a statement like that writer did shows a total lack of sensitivity as well as complete lack of forsight that yes, Nigeria is full of religious extremists who might overeact to the suggestion made in the article. The argument that religion is bad cause of all the wars and death it leads to is not hard to make, but in many cases the main factors in such wars are not religious but political/economic/etc. As for the religion we are talking about here, Islam, we really get a negative perception of it here because the only time it makes it to the news is connected with violence of some sort, I'm not going to allege some media conspiracy or anything, but Islam is actually the one religion I've had the most positive experience with having travelled in Islamic countries.

still u gotta question the sanity of that newspaper article writer. i mean that would be considered a possibly offensive remark in a n. american paper, but in a NIGERIA one of the few places sharia is practiced you gotta be pretty stupid to say something like that

well I guess its time for my review...
I'll just start by saying overall I had a really great time, I enjoyed the music and even better I kept recognising people that I had seen at other parties, which is such a good feeling esepcially since i've only been in mtl 3 months. Yes I guess alot of the trance in the main room was kinda cheesy but I was in the right mood for it, I really liked Accuface's set but too bad he only played for 1 1/4 hours. The goa room was also really nice, but I didn't spend too much time in the dnb room, just because I had already heard dnb earlier in the week and was in the mood for something different, also maybe its just me, but people twirling glowsitcks in the dnb room is kinda lame. Anyways I think its time for me to get to sleep hehe....

sorry to be negative but it's not right to charge money for the bus and only say it at the last minute, cause whatever $ you may for a party u assume that this is what it costs, if ur planning on charging for a bus ride u gotta say so up front so we can factor it in when deciding whether to buy tix or not
