Fucking awesome party. It was at the basement of Le Corridor, which is actually a really nice place for smallish parties (great couches!). It was hot, it was sweaty, the place was absolutely packed and everyone was going nuts. The music was mind-blowing, hardcore/hardtek/and hard dnb (and i mean HARD) which gave the party alot of variety musically but stayed in the same spirit all along. The people there were great. It was supposed to end at 7:30 but there were still a handful of people dancing when I left at 9.

its a good movie, but i dont think it will become a classic like pulp fiction is

what surprised me is that for a Tarantino movie there's almost no plot or dialoge..which were the strengths of pulp fiction in my opinion

if u watch japanese movies you'll recognize the violent schoolgirl motif thats kinda watered down here

this movie is all about revenge, splattered limbs, and samurai fighting

yes, i actually wrote a poem about raves *hangs head in shame*

so read this and then tell me how much it sucks

As the late hour advances
a clan bounces into the night
wearing smiles of anticipation.
An empty, faceless space beckons
it is here they will unite.

The door opens, step inside
a carnival of colors, a burst of fire
tonight we will touch
the stars, we will rise
up, ever higher.

Hugs and drugs,
toys and poi.
The walls shake,
the roof lifts, an explosion
of chemical joy.

"Last song!" says the dj,
all highs and energy expended.
The music stops, faces drop,
all would be so blissful, if
this night had never ended.

And as the weary, red eyed
revellers shuffle out the door,
there remains nothing left, nothing
besides little zip lock bags, strewn
empty 'cross the floor.

i don't think its about "just saying no"

i think its about getting educated on drugs, their effects, potential problems, and then making you own decision as to whether to use or not, and how much to use

i wouldn't even think about trying anything without first knowing ALOT of information about it

and then once you start using a drug is about willpower, being able to stick to your original decisions about what constitutes an acceptable amount of that drug even when your coming down and there's a pill or line right in front of you

even though, for example, i like mdma and would do it every day if not for the reality of tolerance-building and neurotoxicity, i KNOW that my brain only can manufacture serontonin at a certain rate, hence i only take one cap per month

so far its been a year of taking mdma and its been WONDERFUL. i can truly say that my mdma experiences have increased my sense of empathy towards others and improved my overall well being

and i'm still only using once a month

the place was really amazing, plus really cool trippy halloween decorations

i got there late and missed seb's set =( dammit i thought he would be playing later, but the guest dj (forget his name) playing from 2-3 was really good

somehow i got glued to the couch as well (probably due to hella potent weed - as in getting some visuals!!) and passed out for about an hour, but when i awoke it felt great surrounded with chill people and beats

i dont get how people can bitch about idj "not being the same", what do you expect? it started off being almost like a house party, but of course any event that has great music is gonna attract a wider scope of people over time

while certainly i miss the more intimate feel of the early idj's I thought this party was awesome

so quit complaning and throw your own parties!

dependency rates:

(this % of people who use a drug for the first time will eventually become dependant on it)

tobacco - 32%
heroin - 23%
cocaine - 17%
alcohol - 15%
marijuana - 9%

everyone can come up with a million reasons why others will abuse drugs and they can use it responsibly

I admit I fall into that category. i know that many other people end up abusing substances but I think it won't happen to me, because..*starts listing reasons*

maybe i'll just be proved wrong

if you want to make a persuasive argument, you need to start by actually providing solid facts and details, and then make your argument based on a solid foundation

if you don't, the only people that will agree with you are the people who were inclined to see things that way to begin with

Moore basically starts out by bombarding you with half-baked facts, and then making conclusions based on these "facts" which are very shaky and obviously manipulative

so anyone that disagrees with Moore (no matter how stupid they are) can just point out the poor foundation upon which Moore bases his arguments, and say "hey..something doesn't quite make sense here" and then totally dismiss his final argument

on the other hand, when you make an argument based on indisupateble facts, its alot harder to challenge, because people can't be so dismissive

"Bowling for Columbine" is basically just as skewered, biased, and one-sided as the worst right wing propaganda out there.

It's not going to convince anyone to change their minds because its so full of holes, exagerations, and borderline lies that its easy to dismiss.

Yeah, no Canadians ever lock there front doors. Right? And he proved it so convincingly, didnt he?

Fuck that.

I think its pointless to counter right wing propaganda with left wing propaganda, because then all you get is two schools of people listening to their own preference for propaganda.

How about actually forming an intellegent argument that actually has the potential to make people change their minds? Chomsky can do that very well, but Moore simply cant.

He's the George Bush of the left.

the funniest moment was when we went to this dep, and for some reason the bum decided he wanted to buy me a lighter as a present. (DON'T ask me to make any sense of this because it simply DOESNT).

he knew the people working there, and somehow it ended up in a huge argument because they didn't have any lighter fluid. and us getting thrown out of the place.

Amen to this :)

BEWARE OF MONOTHEISM

Monotheism is the primitive religion which centers human consciousness on Hive Authority. There is One God and His Name is (substitute Hive-Label). If there is only One God then there is no choice, no option, no selection of reality. There is only Submission or Heresy. The word Islam means "submission." The basic posture of Christianity is kneeling. Thy will be done. Monotheism therefore does no harm to hive-oriented terrestrials who eagerly seek to lay-off responsibility on some Big Boss. Monotheism does profound mischief to those who are evolving to post-hive stages of reality. Advanced mutants do make the discovery that "All is One," as the realization dawns that "My Brain creates all the realities that I experience." The discovery of Self is frightening because the novitiate possessor of the Automobile Body and the Automobile Brain must accept all the power that the hive religions attributed to the jealous Jehovah. The First Commandment of all monotheisms is: I am the Lord, thy God: Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. All monotheisms are vengeful, aggressive, expansionist, intolerant.

It is the duty of a monotheist to destroy any competitive heresy. Concepts such as devil, hell, guilt, eternal damnation, sin, evil are fabrications by the hive to insure loyalty to Hive Central. All these doctrines are precisely designed to intimidate and crush Individualism. The process of mutating into Self-hood plunges the mutant into this cross fire of neurogenetic moral flak. Most of the freak-outs, bad trips and hellish experiences are caused by Monotheistic Morality. Again, it must be emphasized, that Monotheism is a necessary stage. Monotheism is a technology, a tool, to bring pre-civilized tribespeople and caste-segregated primitives into the collectives necessary to develop the post-hive, post-terrestrial technologies.

The major evolutionary step is taken when the individual says: "There is only one God who creates the universe. This God is my Brain. As the driver of this Brain I have created a universe in which there are innumerable other Gods of equal post-hive autonomy with whom I seek to interest. And my universe was, itself, created by a Higher Level of Divinity--DNA, whose mysteries and wonders I seek to understand and harmonize with."
