Fred, I think you misinterpreted the point of the game. Its not about how high of a score you got, or how moral you are. Its about two things:

1. whether you beleive that morals are relative (and thus are more permissive of deviant behavior) or absolute (and thus are more intolerant of behavior you deem to be absolutely immoral) and

2. how consistent or inconsistent your beleifs regarding morality are. near the beginning of the exercise, you are asked whether or not a private behavior that harms no one is immoral. if you answered no to that, than you should have no problem with any of the subsequent activities described. however, if you beleive that actions that cause no harm are not immoral, but then judged the subsequent scenarios to be immoral, then you are in contradition with yourself

Humans are biologically designed to desire sex because thats what keeps the species alive. Sexual attraction is just a means to an end. The more babies are made, the more the mechanism of natural selection takes effect: too many offspring means that only the best mutations will survive, hence resulting in evolution.

Me and Simon have started up this idea to make sure we all get good attendences at our funerals.

You see, you never know when you'll be dead: the red light you decided to jaywalk? bet you never expected some drunk 17 year olds to be cruising around at that hour. or that alleyway you decided to cut through? didn't notice that gun toting methhead hallucinating flying bats shooting out of your head, did you.

But why stress, when you can know that whatever happens, at least your funeral will be one hellava party? So heres how it works: me and Simon will both attend each others funerals, whichever comes first. by joining this club (simply state "i join the funeral club" in this thread) BOTH me and Simon will attend your funeral, in exchange for you attending ours. so in a way its kinda good to die early, cuz that way they'll be more other alive people to come to your funeral.

and oh yah suicides dont count, cuz that would like cheating and shit

DXM (unlike, say, mush) is not a particularly safe drug. It probably causes brain damage in recreational doses, plus can lead to a whole other slew of problems if abused. Its probably more dangerous than ketamine, though not nearly as bad as PCP (all three are dissociative anasthetics).

That said, if your going to do it, do it right. Make sure the only active ingredient of the cough syrup you use in DXM, and be sure of the dose. One of the most interesting things about DXM is that there are 4 distinct dose-dependant plateaus, which can be briefly characterized as follows:

1st plateau (~2.7mg/kg) Sense of euphoria, stimulation, music sounds incredible

2nd plateau (~6.4mg/kg) Heavy feeling of being stoned

3-4th plateaus (9mg/kg and up) Profound mind-body dissociation, hallucinations, spiritual experiences, etc

So, to calculate how many teaspoons you need to drink ---->

# teaspoons = M x D / C , where

M = your weight in kg
D = your desired dose (mg/kg)
C = concentration of the cough syrup (mg/spoon)

For my first DXM experience, I decided to shoot for an easy first plateau experience, that I could enjoy at a party (Noah's bday bash). Thus I drank about 11 teaspoons of syrup, equivalent to about 2.7mg/kg

The first effects were felt in half an hour: sense of alertness, slight energy, plus dancing felt amazing: my motions became more fluid. Music sounded deep and incredible, and I felt a pleasant sense of euphoria. My thoughts were fairly unaffected, though I found my speech to be slightly impaired. These effects lasted slightly more than 3 hours.

Overall, the experience was fairly subtle, but enjoyable nonetheless. I would repeat this at a party with a *slightly* higher dose. I probably will try one 3rd plateau dose (not at a party) before the summer, which should take me a far more interesting place.

I've had several occasions where, after smoking some bud at a party, I've goten minor visuals and the same sort of body feeling as my most recent mushroom trip. It's always very enjoyable.

Recently, I've been able to consciously enter into a slight hallucinogenic state in certain situations. For example, when I'm bored in class, I can focus on the patterns left by the eraser-marks on the blackboard, and see shapes and faces. Its quite a mild and pleasant effect, and I can control it at will.

The more severe flashbacks are usually associated with heavy acid use. If your curious to learn more, type in HPPD (hallucinogenic persisting perceptual disorder) into google.

Well, most party kids go through a number of stages:

STAGE 1 3 months - 1 year

At first, raves seem like the ultimate utopia. Everything is new, exciting and fresh, everyone seems so nice, and the MDMA experience is pure magic. People leave behind their other interests and become completely immersed in the rave scene. This is when alot of people become candykids.

STAGE 2 The transition

The honeymoon is over. Every rave just seems like a slightly more boring and dull repeat of the last one. People don't seem as nice anymore, the more sketchy side of the scene emerges, and MDMA has lost its lustre. Bitterness sets in. More and more pills are taken in a futile attempt to capture that 'magic feelings' that seems to be more and more elusive.

Stage 3 The critical stage

This is when people make the decisions that shape the course of the rest of their lives. Some people simply leave the scene. Others move on to harder drugs like K, meth, and heroin in an attempt to recapture the magic. This works (for awhile) but the undeniable truth is that those who have abused pills will end up abusing the harder stuff, with far more serious consequences.

Stage 4 Reconciliation

Eventually, some people succeed at finding a comfortable and stable place in the scene that they can occupy in the long term, minus the destructive elements of drug abuse. For many, this involves becoming a DJ, music producer, or promoter. This gives one a sense of satisfaction of contributing to the scene. Of course not many people reach this stage, many fall into rehab, emotional problems, and depression.

The only thing I can really add at this point, is that if you are reading this and still at the first stage, and enjoying MDMA, please don't ruin it for yourself by abusing this drug - and that means NO MORE THAN ONCE PER MONTH. I'm one of the few people I know that is still enjoying MDXX compounds after a year and a half partying, and i credit this to the fact that i never abused pills.

New Data Shows Mysterious Force in Universe, as Einstein Said
By JAMES GLANZ

ARINA DEL REY, Calif., Feb. 20 — A dark, unseen energy permeating space is pushing the universe apart just as Einstein predicted it could in 1917, according to striking new measurements of distant exploding stars by the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope.

The energy, whose source remains unknown, was named the cosmological constant by Einstein. In a prediction he later called "my greatest blunder," but which received its most stringent test ever with the new measurements, Einstein posited a kind of antigravity force pushing galaxies apart with a strength that did not change over billions of years of cosmic history.

Theorists seeking to explain the mysterious force have suggested that it could, in fact, become stronger or weaker over time — either finally tearing the universe apart in a violent event called "the big rip" or shutting down in the distant future. If the force somehow shut down, gravity would again predominate in the cosmos and the universe would collapse on itself. That version of oblivion is sometimes called "the big crunch."

The new observations, which were led by Dr. Adam Riess at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, made the tightest measurements ever on the strength of the antigravity force over time. The observations relied on Hubble observations of the exploding stars, or supernovas, which are swept up in the dark energy's cosmic push.

But rather than seeing the changes in the push that many theorists had predicted, Einstein's steady, unchanging cosmological constant fits the data better than any of the alternatives.

"What we've found is that it looks like a semi-permanent kind of dark energy," Dr. Riess said. "It appears like it's been with us for a long time; if it is changing it's doing so slowly."

"Einstein's theory," Dr. Riess added, "is looking a lot better than before this data."

While the new results favor Einstein's nearly century-old prediction, they do not yet entirely rule out the stranger and more changeable forms of energy that some theorists have put forth. In particular, scientific proponents of the big rip, in which the energy would eventually become so powerful that it tears apart planets, stars and even atoms, have been left with some hope. But the data suggest, Dr. Riess said, that any ultimate cataclysm could not occur until well into the distant future, perhaps 30 billion years from now.

The measurements raise new questions about NASA's decision, which is now being reviewed, to let the Hubble Space Telescope die a slow death in space over the next several years rather than attempt another servicing mission with the space shuttle. NASA's administrator, Sean O'Keefe, has said that a servicing mission would be too risky in the wake of the disaster involving the Space Shuttle Columbia.

Dr. Riess said he disagreed with the decision to shut down the Hubble.

"The Hubble is an invaluable tool in the studies," he said. "Nothing else can contribute this kind of data. I think to stop doing this science with Hubble would be a very unfortunate choice."

Even if crystal meth doesn't have any impurities in it, that doesn't make it "safe". For lack of a better word? The only word that applies is "pure", which doesn't imply safety. Would you consider pure cyanide safe because it lacks cut?

I do understand what you are saying with regards to every drug being different, and different people having different reactions to them. However, there ARE objective criteria one can use to evaluate the relative safety of certain drugs, and these criteria include:

1. addiction potential. how difficult it is to stop, presence of withdrawl symptoms, etc

2. neurotoxicity. Does the drug actually damage the brain, and if so, to what extent?

3. ratio of recreational dose to lethal dose. its fairly easy to OD on H, while almost impossible on, say, weed

The point I am making is simply this: some drugs are far, far safer than others. Maybe we can't completely quantify and compare all drugs on a scale of danger, but its pretty clear if you look at the overall effects of meth that it ranks up there among the more dangerous substances.

As far as I'm concerned, the "rave" scene (i'm assuming we're referring to trance, acid, hhc, and the like) is very different both musically and culturally from hip hop. Of course there are people who are interested and involved in both, but I wouldn't expect hip hop at a rave any more than I'd expect, say, rock music at a rave (though 2k4 sorta proved me wrong there heh).

Jungle does act as a bridge between hip hop and raves, because jungle seems to be culturally more similar to hip hop, yet has its roots in breakbeat hardcore. Still, I think its kinda a stretch to have candykids and hip hop heads at the same party.

Then again, like you said, throw in some E and anythings possible :)

The lease is in T's name, and me and J pay our share of the rent to him. Problem: J doesn't have any money and hasn't paid any of February's rent. So basically, T will give up the place if he doesn't get J's rent. T will move in with his girlfriend, J will stay with friends, and I will be stuck without a place.

Is there any way I can fight this? Whats the best thing to do in this situation? By the way, I only even need a place in Montreal till the end of april, then i'm taking off.

Sharon, if you are suggesting I am interested in ketamine you are CORRECT. as a matter of fact, I am interested in injecting ketamine intramuscularly because it is far more psychedelic via that route of administration. problem is, I don't have access to sterilized bottles of liquid ketamine, and i am not willing to put my health in jeopardy by using unsteralized powder.

that tangeant aside, i never denied being interested in ketamine, however i STRONGLY denied any implication that i did so to 'fit in'

I will gladly answer your questions sharon :)

Firstly, I realize many of my posts on ravewave have been drug-related, and this reflects the fact that drugs (especially psychedelics) are an area of great interest to me. Over the course of my drug experiences, I have learnt and grown and dreamed and wept, and then tried to make sense of it all. Many of my trip reports have been nothing more than me trying to sort together my memories of the experience. While divulging these intimate details of my life has certainly left me vulnerable to personal critiscism (as this thread demonstrates), I would rather lay myself bare to your judgements than cower in silence.

I also have tried to share as much relevant information for the purpose of accurate risk-assesment and harm reduction. It saddens me the number of people in the rave scene that do drugs recklessly and ignorantly, when in fact drugs can be used to great benefit, when one is armed with the proper information. While there are certainly great resources on the internet for looking this stuff up, alot of people on this board don't make the effort - hence my attempt to bring some of the most critical information to this board.

While drugs are by no means my only area of interest (and if you care to get to know me, you'll soon realize this), the topic of drugs is probably the one most relevant topic I can contribute to this board. Because frankly, alot of the topics in General Discussion involve the details of the interpersonal relationships of about half a dozen people (and read like an extended msn conversation), none of which I frankly care too much about. So I contribute to this board in the way I can, in an area that I beleive is relevant to the people who view this board. If my posts are irrelevent to you, please feel free to skip them.

Secondly, I must laugh at your suggestion that doing drugs will make me "cooler or more accepted". Because frankly, the drugs I do probably have more of an alienating effect than what you have suggested. Doing 6g of mushrooms alone in a dark, candle-lit room, in the persuit of mystical experience, creates within me an experience that few can relate to, or that I can share in a meaningful fashion with anyone but other commited psychedelic users. So I sit by myself and type the experience, which perhaps no one will read, but will at least serve the purpose of externalising some of the inner workings of my mind.

And while I do care about the opinions others hold of me, and hope that people appreciate my intentions, I by no means am trying to win any popularity contests. Besides, to do so would be pointless at this stage in my life anyways, since I will be spending the next two years of my life studying and travelling in Asia.

I hope this answers your questions, and would appreciate your response. I further request that you raise any further issues you may have of me in person which is a far more appropriate medium for dealing with these matters.

PS. My heart has been touched by those who have defended my intentions in this thread. BIG THANK YOU!!

PPS Yes my teeth look awfully yellow in that picture. I would be glad to try the whitening strips that Jackie has so generously offered to me.
