YOu want me to be a sound guy too, that shit gonna cost you more

hold up .. i agree 200% with that - it's just that sometimes, if there's a small problem, like a wire gets pulled out by accident, then the DJ should be able to trouble-shoot real quick, find the problem, and fix it, instead of standing around, like a child lost in a mall, waiting for some sort of Emergency Response Unit ..

I've had to deal with minor problems so many times, while looking at the DJ, thinking "he couldn't've just figured it out and done that himself? it wasn't hard!"

And with all these laptop DJs who need to plug all sorts of shit in, they need to able to plug shit back in the way it was originally, when their set is over.

And I'm also including sound stuff, like knowing that peaking into the red when the system is all good and proper, is BAD. Talking about DJs who, instead of turning up the master or the gain, turn up all the EQ knobs to max, thinking that makes their tune louder. DJs who turn the Highs up all the way, also thinking it makes the music louder ...

I'm talking about all the technical stuff that is necessary, and yet beyond owning some tracks and being able to mix 'em together ... .. .

Ever see a Pro Hockey player who doesn't know how to tape up his stick? or lace-up his own skates?

what we need more of, isn't DJs who can produce, it's DJs who can plug fucking gear into a mixer! XD

we need more DJs who are technical, not just skill-wise, but equipment-wise.

euh, the cops cracking down on teh rave scene?? OMG!

The media trying to make us look bad!? Fuck!

oh man! we have to do something quick before we -- oh, right, this isn't news ... :p

i'm pretty sure the cops & the government & straight/normal people have been against the scene since day 1. Our parties are, after all, illegal. i don't think they should be, and i think that all those who oppose us are typical right-wing types who never want anyone to have fun - and they fear the unknown - but we've been fighting the good fight.

And i guess we can't blame them, given their positions/lifestyles, for not conceding and giving us free reign - though it would be nice, since alot of us are just in it for the music, and we put alot of time and effort into it, not for the drugs, but for the good times, and good friends.

So, of course the oppressors will use what they can to chip away at us. They know goddamn well that we're having fun, and that makes 'em mad!

For the record, an under-age person is safer in a Rave by Sunday morning, than at church .. :p

plus, it does some funny stuff sometimes ... like opening a SoundForge Help box every time i use an effect, and not recognizing the CD drive when i try the Burn Track option ... bizarre.

hmm.. Sony: multi-billion dollar company. Microsoft: multi-billion dollar company. Coincidence? Or did someone get paid to program a lil' something in Windows to make sure cracked versions of Sony products won't function... ???

all in all, i say : Partition --> 1. Win-whatever --> 2. Ubuntu (Linux).
Use one for music, the other for everything else.

i dunno, when i got my laptop, vista was already on it, and i was told at the store that i could get the Win7 CD for free, after some internet requestage - since i got the 'puter just after 7 came out - but i never bothered.

so, meh .. vista sucks, but it works just fine, so i didn't move on.

and well, XP <-- not just an OS, but also the face that xp makes when someone installs it instead of vista or 7 ...

nah, that was Mario Senior, Mario's pappa, who was found dead in a barrel in 1984. The investigation is still ongoing, though they've recently found gorilla DNA at the crime scene, which finally clears Bowser of any wrong-doing, therefore making Mario's plight to avenge his father over the past 25 years, a complete waste of time.

--- --- ---

atheism is a concept, not the lack of one. as soon as you label what you do or do not believe in, it becomes your philosophy, your principle, your belief.

y'know, some words have two meanings, and/or have various applications .. it's not because something is a non-belief in something else that it's automatically not a belief itself!

logic fail anecdote: if it takes 1 man 60 seconds to dig a post-hole, then it must take 60 men 1 second to dig a post-hole.

anyway, if i have to write the word 'belief' one more time, i'm gonna crawl through teh internetz tube system and come out 'n' kick someone in the nuts ... :p

PS. Ravers must be anti-science, 'cause they sit around every weekend burning brain cells in protest .. XD
