then specify: "any suggestions for other sites where the artists willingly upload their tunes for download? " ..

otherwise, yeah, people are gonna just suggest 'illegal' free music sites, and other people will get upset ..

all of the above ...

no ONE thing works .. drink water before sleep if possible. gatorade or more water when you wake up. then down 2 Gurus (mutante once suggested that to me, and it worked) and then eat a poutine.

don't mix too many things up though, and avoid too much sugar (if the headache is bad).

there is no miracle remedy, and no instant remedy either. you need natural stuff to wake you up and clear your head, and greasy shit to absorb the alcohol, and water to dilute it and thin out your blood. the hangover will gradually dissipate.

sometimes a bit of 'the hair of the dog that it you' works, but is better at the tail-end of the hangover, and yes, puking helps the body, but not the morale. sex, well, yeah, that's a cure for everything :p

best thing is to prevent, by drinking lots of water during or at the end of the night, and avoid mixing too many different types of alcohol (if you drink vodka, martininis, beer, cider, tequila and finish the night with wine, then nothing short of a truck to the head is gonna help you) ...

good luck, my headachey-powerless-suffering-broken-livered-alcoholic friends ;)

so, you're not talking about having a boyfriend and fucking other people once in a while, you're talking about 'loving' and perhaps dating multiple people at once. i see a slippery slope on the horizon ...

i see what you mean, but there's a big difference between a country tightening up and rolling up their sleeves in order to keep their country afloat, and the entire planet, 7 billion people, adhering to a restricted way of life. even if its for 'the greater good' not everyone is gonna fall in line, and so you'll get rebellion. nothing changes.

i agree that society does a lot of useless things that we could do without, and without those things we'd already be farther ahead and less wasteful. but these guys are talking about deciding our fate, telling us what is necessary and what isn't. and where does art fall into their big plan?

i'd rather be dying artist that a living robot.

yep .. well, i read the overview thingy. either way, the more i read the less logical it seemed.

it's all utopian, but seems wrought with conspiracy theories, and the only way it could work would also mean robbing people of their individuality.

i could come up with an ideal way to fix the planet too, write a book, and sit back and watch it top the charts while it changes nothing.

there are alot of theories that look real nice on paper (or in a video) .. but, put it into practise, and you have a civil war on your hands . . .

hardcore is not necessarily fast .. there is now a name for faster nastier hardcore too: terrorcore.

ugh, sub-genres ...

anyway, what i've always loved about hardcore is that it's one of the rare techno styles that isn't defined by it's tempo (which is probably why ppl felt the need to divide it all up XD ) .. hardcore can be anywhere from 1 to 1 million bpm. no one cares, as long as there's some distortion in there somewhere .. ;)

for those thirsty for a regular dose of HC, don't worry, only a couple of months left to wait ... =D

some couples have an open relationship 'cause one or both of the partners is bi, and if both parties are happy with the situation, it can work quite well. but, i've seen those couples break-up anyway, but for other reasons.

sex is an important part of any relationship, but freedom doesn't fix any of the millions of other problems a couple can have.

funny how it's called poly'amour'y , as if there's any love involved in any of the sexual encounters either of the couple might have with others. in fact, most of the time the fear is not that your lover is fucking someone else, it's that they might fall in love with someone else.

anyway, works for some people, apparently - good for them, but wouldn't work for me. i say, if you want to sleep around, then you might not be ready for a relationship ...

hmm .. actually, hardtek tends to be cleaner, and yes, sticks 'round a higher tempo (app. 170 to 200 bpm). but hardcore's tempo varies greatly, and it tends to be dirtier, more distorted kicks. hardcore is kinda like the big family, then i guess there's the subgenres - hardtek, hardfloor, tribe, gabber, hardstyle, speedcore, doomcore, breakcore, noisecore, etc.

but, hey, it's all just hardcore to me ;)

hmm.

i read the overview, intro type thing. some of it is stuff punks have been saying for 30 years. this society is not sustainable! duh, but nice message.

but, the solution they offer is weak ...

"It is a system in which all natural, man-made, machine-made, and synthetic resources would be available without the use of money, credits, barter, or any other form of symbolic exchange."

and how does that work? we all just volunteer to do what's necessary? great! problem is: that's how life would already be if it was possible! why do we use exchange of goods and services? 'cause it's the most fair way of making sure as many people as possible do their part.

so, what do you do if the dude who repairs the water-supply-system-thingy doesn't feel like doing that anymore? threaten him with a gun? train someone else? who's gonna volunteer to pick up the trash? 'cause, y'know, no matter how perfect your society is, there's gonna be garbage.

"... negligent for us to waste our lives waiting tables, working at a bus station, fixing cars" .. right. we don't need public transport! we don't like it when other people cook our food for us! i assume somewhere there's a solution in which people don't need transportation, or restaurants. ('cause if you're 10 miles away from home, we know the best thing to do is walk back and cook your own damn lunch :/ )

it's like saying: let's get rid of money, use what we already have, get rid of all things that aren't necessary for survival, and all just get up and do it!

real ideal, real utopian. i like some of the basics. too bad it's impossible. too bad they're wasting their time on that, instead of addressing the real issue: there are just too many humans!

ps. i wonder how many 'resources' they used to make that video, put up/run the site, and print that book. heh.

^^ yeah it's been done .. that's kinda what rewire5 was: hardtech / hardcore in room 1, psy / hhc in room 2, but the lines weren't so drawn between what was necessarily darker and lighter.

i wouldn't do something that panders to everyone, but then separates and divides the ravers once they're in the party ... unless, again, it was some epic-gathering multi-room insane-event.

Kountess: i think metal, and/or punk, and/or industrial is where alot of us hardcore kids have our roots. heavy tunes ftw :)

people into hardcore like everything that's hard, heavy, n' dark. doesn't have to be fast or distorted. we like it all, from metal to d'n'b, from industrial to trip-hop.

i did the psy/HC thing at Rewire 5, with Clown, with some success; though it was at a time when the scene was at a crossroad, so we had alot of people, but less than expected. but liked the idea, and it went over well. but with all the psy parties happening, i wouldn't do it again (unless it was a 4 room party or something - *winks at mickos* ) .. i'm not into market saturation :p

Fishead, as always, i bow down to your insight ;)

what we hear is not always what's being made. what we hear in clubs is alot of popular material, doesn't mean that there aren't a ton of people doing the right thing ... in a basement somewhere.

and i'm truly happy that distortion is now a perfectly normal part of music.

well, the 90s were all about industrial-metal type stuff .. good shit too: ministry, fla, manson, skinny puppy, etc. , and of course, alot of crap too. it happens to all styles of music.

though i agree, the throbbing gristle era mentality definitely got lost by the late 80s .. meh, them be the breaks. puppy and ministry kept it alive for a while, but now most of what we get is more dancefloor oriented. but there are others keeping up the original ideas ... .. .
