Well, I was trying to avoid the Wall-Of-Text, but thnx for posting the actual articles, DynV. xD It seems like alot, but its a good read, smoke a J and check it out -- I've never seen anyone in the electronic music scene be so brutally, and publicly, honest about these things ... |

So, a while back an artist, who I met 2 years ago at the Kinetik industrial festival, wrote about the music scene in a blog. He talks primarily about the industrial scene, but it pertains to all. He's the front-man for the band Caustic, but this has nothing to do with that, this is just a personal observation from him, and I found it interesting enough to post it here ... Basically, it's about club-nights and music, a poke at people who complain about shit, but don't do shit. There are 4 parts to this: The Fans, the Promoters, the DJs, and the Producers. Follow the links, enjoy, discuss. [ www.tellmeaboutmyuterus.com ] Here's a teaser: ''Here’s a note to every person who bitches about “not getting any good shows” in their area: What the hell have YOU done to make them happen? We live in a time where everyone can be lazy as fuck. You don’t need to pay for music or television or movies or ANYTHING if you don’t want to. On top of it you can anonymously whine online about all the shit YOU DIDN’T EVEN PAY FOR and be an asshole just because you hate your life or think it’s funny being a dick when you’re drunk. Guess what? You’re the fucking problem.'' **BTW, I'm also posting this 'cause what he says is fucking true, it's real. People need to either wake-the-fuck-up, or shut-the-fuck-up. |

If Alien wants a Mac 'cause he NEEDS certain programs only available for Mac, then let him spend the extra cash and deal with the future Mac headaches ... So, on the other hand, you can buy a really good Laptop w/ Windows (yeah, I hate Win too, but meh) and just don't go on the 'net with it, if you're buying a machine for audio/visual, and can use Win programs. I use a shitty pc with Ubuntu (linux) for the 'net, and a decent virgin laptop for music. Perfect. It's like comparing oranges and tangerines here ... Mac, PC, whatever, its a fucking computer, so just get what suits your needs at the best price you can find with the energy you're willing to spend on the research, and enjoy whatever piece of enslaving technology you decide to get xD -- just make sure you buy what you need, NOT what offers you the most amount of useless fancy options. The idea is to know what you want the computer for, and take it from there ... |

Thnx Al :) So many good times, so much great music, I hate to see this end, but we're moving on and up! I hope everyone who loves Hardcore makes it out, 'cause this'll be your last chance to hear real hard'n'heavy electronic tunes in a bar for a while ... Here's a dramatic topic of discussion for y'all: This city now has officially too many Promoters and not enough DJs! This fuckin' place is over-saturated with promoters for bar/club nights that all share common interests, and book the same people -- even though there is still a lack of Rave promoters ... *pop corn, enjoy the movie* |

On Tuesday, July 5th 2011, with a heavy heart, OCDj presents its final night. Although an abrupt end, for reasons explained below, I've decided to play alone rather than book the massive line-up one would expect of OCDj (sorry!). So, as a farewell, I'll be playing tunes from all the hard genres that touched the night :: --> Dj Nā (Deadna prod.) [Hardcore, Gabber, Dubstep, Hard-Techno, Industrial, Breakcore, D'n'B, Speedcore, 90s Alternative, Psy, etc.] 22:00 - 03:00 Only 2$ at the door, coat-check included. @ Bar Le Passeport, 2037 St. Denis (metro Berri-UQAM) Specials: Bottle of beer: 3$ 2 Shots of hard: 6$ Link to calendar page / attendance / info : [ www.rave.ca ] OCDj The End Manifesto: For both personal and professional reasons, that have nothing to do with the success of the night itself, I have decided to end OCDj. After 11 months of pure wickedness - spread out over the course of a year and a half - tons of good times, great music, and loyal fans, I need to take time off from the bar scene to focus on both my music, and a major Hardcore event that I'm organizing for the end of August. So, all good things must come to and end, and in this case I'm going with the ''quit while you're ahead'' scenario. I apologize to the Hardcore scene, that will no longer have it's home at OCDj, that will no longer have a weekly night to attend, enjoy, get drunk at, and mix at, but we need to grow and therefore need to concentrate on bigger better things. I'm amazed at how many people love Hard Electronics, and are thirsty for more. I hold dear every person that walked into the bar and showed faith in our music. I want to thank every single one of OCDj's supporters, as well as all of the awesome DJs who have passed by to drop heavy beats, my graphic designer for the great flyer and poster work, Datagram Radio, and of course, Bar Le Passeport for supporting me and giving us a chance to dance to crazy tunes. My heart is broken, but life goes on, and Hardcore will never die. OCDj will forever remain one of the highlights of my music career, and is a testament that once in a while, I can do the right thing. With much sadness, I leave you all the to wolves of Montreal, to an electronic scene now over-saturated with promoters and bar nights - to revolt, to let this city know that you will not accept anything less than the hardest. Never fear, OCDj will be back one day, when the city needs it most. Much love. -Nathan (Deadna prod.)
